Spring Warmth Initiative: Caring for Female Sanitation Workers in Tibetan Areas

March in the world brings blooming flowers and warm weather. Today marks the 111th International Women’s Day ("March 8th" Women’s Day). On this holiday that honors female workers, there is a group of hardworking women around us who quietly "beautify" the city—they are the female sanitation workers in Diebu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province.

On March 8, Yijiahe, together with the Gansu Duoshi Love Foundation, and in collaboration with the Diebu County Health Commission, Diebu County People’s Armed Forces Department, and Diebu County Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, held the "Spring Warmth Initiative" for International Women’s Day in Diebu. With the theme of "Caring for Female Sanitation Workers, Jointly Building a ‘Five-None’ Gannan", the event paid tribute to the dedication of female sanitation workers.

As the "city beauticians", female sanitation workers are pioneers in building ecologically civilized towns. They endure high labor intensity and poor working conditions, adhering to the belief that "I’d rather get dirty alone to keep thousands clean". At the event site, Yijiahe staff and volunteers held a health knowledge lecture for the female sanitation workers, guiding these women to establish the concept of "being the first person responsible for their own health" and advocating for the whole society to pay attention to women’s health issues.

Volunteers also distributed love hygiene kits and bouquets to 97 female sanitation workers across the county, and extended sincere greetings and holiday wishes. Bright smiles bloomed on the faces of every female sanitation worker present.
