Nizang Village in Duo'er Township is 75 kilometers away from Diebu County seat. The village’s school—Nizang Village School—cannot even be found on maps; even the entire village is merely a tiny dot on them. The school has only 8 children and one teacher in total.
When Yijiahe’s volunteers arrived, compared with children in other donation visits, the kids here seemed a little shyer. In their eyes, we could see confusion about the future. Their faces and hands were marked by years of exposure to the plateau’s harsh sun, wind and frost—a sight that tugged at the heartstrings.
