Yijiahe x Nanjing Children's Hospital: Public Welfare Campaign for Ear Care Day

Recently, the Nanjing Children's Hospital Medical Development and Medical Assistance Foundation has successively sent "warm winter" reply letters!

Earlier at the beginning of this year, Yijiahe joined hands with the Nanjing Children's Hospital Medical Development and Medical Assistance Foundation to launch the "Hearing the Future" public welfare donation project. The project is dedicated to supporting cochlear implantation and rehabilitation for deaf children from low-income families, helping them return to the world of sound. Since its launch, the project has provided treatment for nine impoverished deaf children, adding a strong sense of warmth to the end of the year.

Le Le (a pseudonym), a young girl from Nanjing, was diagnosed with congenital deafness at the age of eight months. At two years old, she could not experience the world of sound like other children—she could not hear the chirping of cicadas and birds in nature, nor the calls of her parents. For this, Le Le’s parents have been in despair countless times. Seeing their lovely daughter unable to grow up healthily like other children and trapped in a silent world forever, their hearts ached terribly. What made it even more desperate was that both of their children suffered from congenital hearing impairment: Le Le’s 13-year-old brother was also diagnosed with congenital deafness at a young age. Additionally, there were elderly family members suffering from cerebral infarction, diabetes, and heart disease. Le Le’s mother rushed around to take care of the elderly and the children, being extremely busy every day.
Cochlear implantation is highly effective in treating deafness, and the age of two to three is the optimal period for the rehabilitation of deaf children. However, in the face of high treatment costs, the meager income of Le Le’s family was far from sufficient. Le Le’s father, the only breadwinner of the family, was at a loss when confronted with such a difficult situation.
Upon learning about Le Le’s situation, the project team of Yijiahe and the Foundation’s "Hearing the Future" initiative went through various efforts to contact Le Le’s family in a timely manner. They gave Le Le green-light support to help her start hearing rehabilitation training as soon as possible, hoping that she could recover at the optimal treatment age and enjoy a wonderful childhood like her peers at an early date.

The difficulty of rehabilitation training for deaf children is far beyond ordinary people’s imagination. Even when wearing hearing aids or cochlear implants, it is extremely hard for the children to speak. Some have to hold their breath until their faces turn red just to squeeze out one or two words. Others manage to say a few words with great effort, but their pronunciation is far from standard. Deaf children who have not received language training usually cannot make normal sounds. To teach them to pronounce like people with normal hearing, a great deal of guidance and training is required in aspects such as breath control, mouth shape, and tongue position. According to Le Le’s rehabilitation doctor: "At first, Le Le could only receive cochlear language training, but now she can not only say her own name but also master simple words."
It is reported that among the nine children currently receiving treatment under the "Hearing the Future" project by Yijiahe and the Foundation, the oldest is seven years old, and the youngest is less than one year old. During the rehabilitation period, they receive various language training courses at the rehabilitation center. Staff from Yijiahe also regularly visit the families of these children together with the medical staff and teachers from Nanjing Children's Hospital, participate in their auditory rehabilitation courses, and provide the children with more timely help and care.

Apply intelligent technology to improve human life. Yijiahe continues to develop specialized robots that improve people’s working environment, reduce work risks, and enhance work efficiency. Meanwhile, in public welfare initiatives, the company also conveys its humanistic care and sense of responsibility: caring for girls in Tibetan Areas, visiting female sanitation workers, joining hands in the "Hearing the Future" project to help deaf children, and holding a public welfare art exhibition to celebrate its 3rd anniversary of listing.
In the future, the company will continue to fulfill its social responsibility through actions, give full play to its own advantages, and help more deaf children hear the future and feel love clearly.
To protect the children, the photos of the deaf children in this article have been blurred.
